A new intranet

Aviva are the UK's largest insurance company with over 15 million customers in the UK. They offer insurance and savings products to help you protect the important things in life. Aviva came to ClerksWell with two challenges; a new intranet and marketing hub for their internal teams. 

ClerksWell have been professional, flexible and enthusiastic throughout the project. I felt like they got what I was trying to achieve with the site, and they have felt like an extension of the team. In cases where there are known IT issues, the ClerksWell team have taken the pain away from me, liaising directly with the IT and Aviva World teams. The project management is the best I've seen at any agency so far.

The Challenge

Aviva's Internal Communications team commissioned us to enhance the new intranet, to improve its usabililty and value to their internal staff. They also required an insightful and commercially-focused marketing organisation, to allow their marketers to work effectively and make Aviva the number one most recommended insurer.

ClerksWell needed to make a fast but insightful assessment, then recommend strategic, effective and practical changes.

The Approach

ClerksWell developed an engagement framework that would inspire end users and fully exploit Microsoft Office 365 functionality. We defined and assesses business requirements, audience understanding, and technical opportunities and developed a framework that acknowledged the complexity of user needs. We also helped to define the range of metrics and qualitative data they could collect to inform future enhancements.

Following a workshop to clarify Aviva's requirements, ClerksWell first produced wireframes to establish how the site features and content would be structured.

The new central hub is an engaging, user-friendly one-stop shop for marketeers' professional development. ClerksWell built specific page templates, an events calendar, promotional videos and the ability to filter events by location, name and cabability. The hub showcases real examples of the tools and approaches that have worked with Aviva.
