Our accessibility services

Web accessibility is about making sure that digital content can be accessed, understood and used by everyone. Making a website accessible means making sure it can be used by as many people as possible, and websites are now expected to be as such. At ClerksWell, we offer Accessibility Audits and Implementation to help start you on your accessibility journey.

ClerksWell and Accessibility

At ClerksWell we have accessibility built into our process from the very beginning, ensuring all of our web builds are at least WCAG 2.2 compliant. As well as improving the usability of web content for all users, web accessibility improves search engine ranking and enhances brand reputation. It is also a must-have for public sector organisations.

We provide a full audit of our clients' websites to identify accessibility vulnerabilities, providing a score, a full recommendation report and an implementation roadmap. This offers a great opportunity to improve your website, grow your digital audience and work towards WCAG 2.2 compliance.

Web Excellence Award for Accessibility

We are thrilled to announce that we have won the Web Excellence Awards Award for Accessibility 2024, with our long-term digital partner and client The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) for their homepage transformation project.

Accessibility is one of the ABPI’s key goals, and is embedded within our processes here at ClerksWell, so it is excellent to see the teams appreciated for all their hard work. Special thanks to our friends at Umbraco as well, for a wonderful CMS platform to work with.

Smart Energy GB Spotlight

Alongside the need to migrate to a new CMS, Smart Energy GB wanted to make the website WCAG compliant and enhance the website with the 3rd party accessibility tool 'Recite Me'. This tool provides functionalities such as language translations, screen reading and colour contrast settings.

Using Umbraco, we began the development of the new website with our expert team. The WCAG guidelines informed every part of our development process, from design to building and testing, and we integrated 'Recite Me'. The end result achieved Smart Energy GB's core goal of inclusivity and accessibility; their site is now usable for everyone.
