ClerksWell and Smart Energy GB shortlisted for Digital Impact Awards 2024

This month ClerksWell, along with long time digital partner and client, Smart Energy GB, have been shortlisted for 'Best Use of Digital by a Charity, NGO or NFP' by the Digital Impact Awards 2024. The Digital Impact Awards have one of the longest-standing reputations within the digital community and host the leading event which honours the best corporate digital work.

In order to be considered for an award, suppliers and clients must provide an entry submission detailing the work that they have completed and are entering for consideration. ClerksWell and Smart Energy GB's project, which sought to enhance digital conversion rates, exemplifies outstanding digital transformation within a not-for-profit organisation. The project optimised Smart Energy GB's website to significantly increase user engagement and conversion rates, a crucial project for advancing the UK government's sustainability goals.

Smart Energy GB is an independent, not-for-profit, government-backed organisation that helps spread awareness of the benefits of smart meters on users and the environment across the UK. The purpose of ClerksWell and Smart Energy GB'S project was to increase the amount of users that would be connected with their energy supplier, and apply for a smart meter.

The project involved two months of planning and research and two months of design and implementation. Through extensive research, user testing, and innovation, Smart Energy GB's website saw a 123% increase in click-outs to suppliers. The project also took WCAG 2.2 AA compliance into very careful consideration, ensuring that all members of the UK could access the website with ease regardless of disabilities.

Our combined work has positioned Smart Energy GB to better support the UK's sustainability goals by increasing smart meter adoption. Particularly among sceptics, the design changes make it easier to follow and explain why the user must carry out those steps. Without these optimisations, sceptics would lose interest quickly. The transformative impact of our combined work is a testament to the power of digital enhancements in driving significant change in the not-for-profit sector. Our journey with Smart Energy GB has been one of discovery, innovation, and ultimately, success.

We look forward to seeing the results of the Digital Impact Awards in the coming months!
